In reflecting on the path that South West Strings Collective offers, we wanted to clarify what we have on offer in a more accessible way.
Our Exeter Young Chamber Groups now have names which connect them together.
The Mozart Music Makers have become The Melodic Minors
Scherzando has become The Harmonic Minors
Spicatto Strings has become The Natural Minors
The musicianship groups are now named by the resources they are follow:
Jolly Music 1
Jolly Music 2
Jolly Music 3
Go For Bronze Musicianship
Go For Silver Musiciship (For young musicians and adults)
There will now be a weekly Family Dalcroze class for parents and their children to learn together.
The adults chamber music and musicianship classes are also changing from fortnightly to weekly and we are all looking forward to the increased progress that this will allow.
Any questions about any of this, please get in touch:
Our Summer Concert 2017 marked the end of the first year of our collective.
From our youngest guests from Start Right Nursery to our Adult Chamber Music group. It was wonderful to have everyone under one roof in one concert, particuarly for our joint Four Seasons items.
We also said goodbye to some of our older, most advanced students from South West Camerata, a number of whom are off to study at music colleges.
Thank you to everyone who has supported South West Strings Collective this year!

And the journey doesn't finish there!
After a rather worrying start to the term with the sudden unexpected cancellation of our planned new venue at Exeter Community Centre, we are very happy to announce that we have confirmed an alternative.
We are extremly grateful to The Mint Methodist Church for stepping in and helping us at such short notice. This means we can start our lessons this term in a place we hope to be long term rather than an temporary venue.
All the timetables will stay the same. Members, please check your emails for the details!
We thank everyone for all their support over the past few weeks. The sudden move does have financial implications and we will be looking for funding and sponsorship opportunities for long term security.
Best wishes and thanks from
South West Strings Collective
